Frequently Asked Questions
-
I still get asked this question all the time, SEO stands for search engine optimization and it is the ongoing process of improving your website to increase your qualified organic traffic, traditionally from search engines like Google, Bing. SEO helps search engines understand your content, and helps users find your website.
SEO increasingly overlaps with a couple of other concepts that are sometimes phrased as Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization, etc. as users go to places like LLMs and social media to ask questions and not just traditional search engines.
What these all have in common and the simplest way I like to explain SEO (or GEO or AEO), is the goal is to match people (your target audience) with what they are searching for (your products + services). It looks different in 2026 than it did in 2016, and it will look different in 2036, but the brands that get it are the ones that can hone in on their target audience, meet them where they’re at (like on a company website, or on Instagram if that’s where their audience “lives” online), and answer their most common questions.

I recommend starting with an audit. That will give you an idea of your site health, then fix any technical and on-page SEO issues. Then a combination of keyword research and an analysis of your closest competitors to get an idea of their online presence and activity. From there, it’s about determining the best ongoing strategy for YOU - your industry, your niche, your location, and your goals.

NO, next question.
Just kidding, this is definitely the question I’ve gotten asked the most in the last few years. The answer is more complicated than what can be discussed in a paragraph or two - but 99% of the time you cannot have good AI visibility without a strong SEO foundation. Generative AI responses are pulled from many sources including traditional search engines, websites, directories, etc., the list goes on.
A lot of the advice for greater LLM visibility are principles that people in the SEO industry have been advising for at least 20 years - including focusing on technical health, contextual linking, readable content structure, highlighting expert points of view + original research, etc., just to name a few.
As long as people search for information, products and services SEO will be a thing. The exact behaviors and platforms will continue to evolve over time.

I’ll answer that question with another question, Do you already have a post covering this exact topic? If the answer is yes and you don’t have much more than a paragraph to add, you are probably better off updating your existing post/page. Search engines and LLMs have been known to reward “fresh” content when relevant. Only create a new page/post if you truly have enough content (ranging from 300-2000+ words) that don’t exist on your site currently.

I offer SEO implementation (done for you) and consultation (done with you) services. This typically includes a mix of the following: SEO website audit, keyword research, written metadata, competitive research, content optimization, and 1:1 consulting. Exact services are always customized to you.
-
I have examples of starting costs for audits, implementation, and consulting on my services + pricing page. Audits start at $750, optimization and consulting packages start around $1500-$2000, but again exact pricing depends on where you’re at and where you’d like to be. Please reach out for an exact quote as this looks a little bit different for everyone. What I won’t do is give cookie cutter rates, suggest bloated, long-term contracts, or try to sell you things you don’t need.
-
Start by reaching out with a few details on my contact form, or book a call when it’s convenient for you. In our initial consultation, I will get to know you and your business a little better. From there, I will put together a custom proposal + quote for you based on what your goals are.
